Great Place To Work

Back to overview

What makes an organization a good employer? That is what Great Place To Work investigates on the basis of questionnaires filled out by an organization’s employees. The results show whether an organization is already a Great Place To Work, and receives certification, or whether there is still work to be done. In the latter case, Great Place To Work also offers consulting and workshops. The organization has over 30 years of experience in more than 60 countries, and we can see the Dutch branch as a scale-up under the multinational. The Dutch organization is based in Haarlem and currently employs 22 colleagues who believe that putting employees first and creating a culture of trust, pride and fun is the key to an organization’s success.

Manage risks quickly

Great Place To Work has been using Proactive Apple Management through Root3 since 2014, a cost-efficient solution where the workplace management of multiple clients takes place within one environment. Jan van der Wegen joined Great Place To Work in 2019 and, as People Lead, is responsible for the internal customer experience, or all kinds of HR-related issues, including workplace management. All 22 Great Place To Work colleagues in the Netherlands have an iPhone and a MacBook, and all these devices are under the management of Root3.

When a new colleague joins or a device needs to be replaced, we order the devices from Apple. Those devices are automatically loaded by remote Proactive Apple Management,” Jan says. “That means there is a standard set of applications to download through Root3’s program. Also, the environment is monitored by Root3. The moment there is a security risk or if something needs to be updated, Root3 receives a notification and can always act quickly.”

Always accessible, always a quick solution

Great Place To Work can also turn to Root3 for all kinds of IT questions, however simple. “A colleague at one point had trouble sending attachments through Outlook. We first try to solve that ourselves, but if we can’t figure it out, we contact Root3. Sometimes it is solved with a phone call and sometimes with TeamViewer to watch with us remotely.” According to Jan, Root3’s solution makes workplace management easier for Great Place To Work because there is always someone from Root3 ready to help them with IT questions. “None of us are experts at that, so it’s nice to have that outsourced. I like the feeling that we can rely on a party that knows its stuff, that we work safely and that, the moment we experience issues, we can always turn to Root3. They are easy to reach and always have a quick solution. That just works,” concludes Jan.
