Bewegin is part of the Sumus Group, along with sister companies innergo and BAAS. Central to all parts is the mission: to Liberate Talent. This mission began at innergo, which since 2008 has been helping clients in the public sector with issues around team performance, effectiveness, organizational culture and more by deploying experienced professionals. Bewegin was founded in 2018 to develop startup talents. The ambitious starters go through an innovative traineeship, work with the client, and receive various training, peer review and support from talent managers. This is of course good for the development of the talents, but it also helps the clients to develop themselves. They strengthen each other through cooperation. The clients saw that Bewegin’s talents were undergoing valuable development and wondered if the organization could also support their permanent employees. To meet this need, BAAS was founded in 2022.

Need to outsource everything

Lara Vaessen herself started as a trainee at Bewegin in 2019. A few years later, the organization began to grow rapidly and Lara saw that there was a great challenge for her within the internal team. In her role as Chain Leader, she now takes care of the coordination between the different internal teams and processes, including ICT.

“Before we worked with Root3 we collaborated with Vincent, he was a freelancer. Due to the growth of our organization, it became difficult for him to continue managing IT on his own, and we wanted to be able to outsource everything to a third party,” says Lara. Vincent joined Root3 permanently, and a first meeting between Bewegin and Root3 followed. “During that first meeting, at which our director Martijn van der Weijden was also present, we hit it off right at the bat. That click is very important to us, which is why we decided to enter into cooperation with Root3 in 2022.  Vincent again became our contact person, but now with the backup of the other colleagues at Root3.”

Migration arranged in 1 day

The entire Sumus organization sits on oneIT tenant and uses Apple Managed Services, including the Productivity Suite. It involves managing about 100 Macs. The latter number is higher because the talents work on the clients’ devices. How did the implementation go at the time? Lara: “Our people’s laptops had to be moved over to Jamf. Root3 was in our office for one day and Everything was finished.! For Martijn and me it was a bit more work, but the rest of the organization didn’t notice that much. It was also nice for me to make myself familiar with IT matters in that way, because I had no background in that.”

Nice communication with remote support

In those early days, Lara also called a lot with remote support from Root3, as she collected ICT questions from the Sumus organization. “I was and still am very satisfied with that. Our people themselves also know how to find remote support and they are always accessible. Remote support has a lot of knowledge, and they can explain things to you in plain language, without making you feel like a sucker for asking that question, even if you are asking it for the umpteenth time.”

Root3: role model partner

Lara indicates that within the organization, they are very satisfied with Root3 as a partner.”Our cultures fit well together, nice and informal. We have clear communication through the monthly updates, the QBR and remote support. Root3 is the bar for us against which we measure other partners. They are examples of how we also want to collaborate with other parties. We find that we strengthen each other and that Root3 really takes those extra steps. They are approachable, they think along well and adapt to our needs.”
